About Us
The Australian Centre for Agricultural Health and Safety (AgHealth) is based at Moree in north west New South Wales, and is an academic Centre of the University of Sydney within the School of Public Health. AgHealth is also a member of the Australian Rural Health Research Collaboration along with the University Departments of Rural Health at Broken Hill and Lismore and the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health, Orange. The Centre is funded through grants from Hunter New England Area Health Service and the New South Wales Department of Health. AgHealth Australia and National Farm Injury Data Centre have been leading research in the incidence of injury and deaths on Australian Farms. Translation of the data has lead to the development of programs of work that in conjunction with industry and relevant organisations that seek to actively reduce farm related injuries. AgHealth is the operations centre on behalf of Farmsafe Australia, and has responsibility for the executive duties of both Farmsafe NSW and Farmsafe North West.
